Comfrey is one of the best plants for organic gardeners. The garden comfrey plant can be used for making fertiliser, speed up composting process and control weeds as it has a higher content of nutrients than the common wild comfrey.
To make your own comfrey fertiliser you need to follow these steps:
- Cut off the leaves
- Place comfrey leaves into a bucket of water (proportion is 1kg of comfrey leaves to 15 litres of water)
- Make sure leaves are covered with water and close the container
- The liquid fertiliser is ready in 4-6 weeks

Always wear gloves to protect your hands when working with comfrey.
